Product Description

See the Composition Profile Inside Your C8 Separation Process

What is happening inside an adsorption tower cannot always be understood from a periodic laboratory sample.

In PX production, the concentration of C8 aromatic components changes continuously as the separation process operates. A measurement taken several minutes earlier may provide useful information—but it cannot show the current concentration profile.

JINSP RS2000PAT Online Raman Analyzer brings continuous analytical measurement directly into the adsorption process.

From Periodic Samples to Continuous Visibility

PX production involves the separation of a difficult C8 aromatic mixture containing PX, MX, OX and EB.

Because these components have similar boiling points, adsorption separation is widely used.

The challenge is not simply measuring the composition. It is obtaining the information frequently enough to support process decisions.

RS2000PAT addresses this challenge through in-situ Raman monitoring.

Multiple Points, One Process Picture

Raman probes can be installed at different positions within the adsorption tower.

Each monitoring point provides current compositional information. Together, these measurements can reveal how the C8 aromatic concentration profile changes through the separation system.

The result is a practical “concentration radar” for the adsorption process.

What Operators Can See

Depending on the configured analytical model, the system can provide information on:

  • Component concentration
  • Concentration changes
  • Process trends
  • Reaction/process abnormalities
  • Product consistency
  • Process status

The product documentation identifies raw materials, products, intermediates and by-products as monitorable component categories and lists reaction endpoints, abnormality, conversion and product qualification among possible output information.

PX Quantification

For the demonstrated PX application, the Raman analyzer accurately extracts the PX signal from the surrounding C8 aromatic background. The reported PX quantitative deviation is below 0.07%.

Connect Measurement to Action

RS2000PAT can transmit measurement results to the plant's central control system, allowing real-time analytical information to become part of process control.

This can support:

  • Faster operating adjustments
  • Better monitoring of adsorption performance
  • Optimization of adsorbent cycles
  • Reduced offline sampling
  • Lower laboratory workload

The goal is straightforward: provide the process team with current concentration information when it is needed—not only after the sample reaches the laboratory.
