In-Situ C8 Aromatics Analysis for Industrial Adsorption Systems

 

RS2000PAT is a high-sensitivity online Raman analyzer for liquid-component analysis and continuous process monitoring. It is designed to provide real-time analytical results directly from chemical production processes.

 

For PX production, the analyzer can be used to monitor the concentration of C8 aromatic components within an adsorption separation system.

 

Online PX Analyzer Based on Raman Spectroscopy

The system uses laser Raman spectroscopy as its measurement principle. The standard RS2000 series uses a 785 nm excitation wavelength, while the RS2100 series uses 1064 nm excitation.

 

For the PX application, the Raman signal associated with PX is analyzed against the complex spectral background generated by the C8 aromatic mixture.

 

Process Application

PX is produced through separation of C8 aromatics. The mixture includes p-xylene, m-xylene, o-xylene and ethylbenzene.

Their closely spaced boiling points make conventional distillation difficult, so simulated moving bed adsorption is widely applied.

 

RS2000PAT can monitor selected locations in the adsorption tower and continuously report concentration information.
