Monitoring the Four Key C8 Components
The C8 aromatic mixture includes:
p-Xylene (PX) — the target component for PX production.
m-Xylene (MX) — one of the closely related aromatic isomers.
o-Xylene (OX) — another C8 aromatic component with similar physical properties.
Ethylbenzene (EB) — present in the C8 aromatic mixture and relevant to the separation process.
The close boiling points of these components make conventional distillation challenging. Industrial PX production therefore commonly uses adsorption separation technologies.

The adsorption process depends on concentration information from multiple process streams and locations.
