Product Description
JINSP ST830E OCT spectrometer represents a fundamental shift in spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) system architecture. At its core lies a proprietary optical design that implements wavenumber-linear dispersion directly at the hardware level—a departure from conventional wavelength-linear spectrometers that rely on software interpolation for data processing.
In traditional OCT spectrometers, the grating disperses light with a linear wavelength distribution, meaning each pixel corresponds to a fixed wavelength interval. However, the Fourier transform—essential for converting spectral data into depth information—requires uniformly spaced data in wavenumber space (k-space). This mismatch forces conventional systems to employ software resampling algorithms, which introduce computational overhead and potential signal distortion through interpolation errors.
ST830E eliminates this compromise through an innovative optical path that performs equal-interval sampling directly at the hardware level. The interference spectrum captured by the spectrometer can undergo direct Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) without any resampling preprocessing. This hardware-based approach delivers three critical advantages: first, it significantly reduces data processing complexity, enabling faster image reconstruction; second, it preserves the phase integrity of the original interference signal, as no interpolation artifacts are introduced; and third, it enhances the overall system signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) by eliminating algorithmic noise sources.
The spectrometer employs a high-efficiency Volume Phase Holographic (VPH) grating, achieving optical resolution approaching the diffraction limit. With 2048 effective pixels and a pixel size of 10×200μm, the device delivers exceptional spectral fidelity across its operating range. The ST830E achieves an impressive 110dB SNR at clinically relevant settings (7mW source power, 120kHz line rate), producing outstanding in vivo OCT and OCTA images with remarkable clarity.
ST830E is available with two interface options: USB3.0 supporting scan rates from 20-130kHz, or Camera Link delivering the full 250kHz maximum line scan rate. This flexibility allows system integrators to balance cost and performance based on application requirements. The USB3.0 option enables direct laptop connectivity without specialized frame grabbers, reducing overall system cost and complexity.
With a wavelength range customizable from 790-910nm, 2.4mm imaging depth, and a robust 1.5kg form factor (260×180×80mm), the ST830E is engineered for both research and industrial deployment. Its mature, stable manufacturing process requires no frequent recalibration, ensuring consistent performance over extended operational periods. For OCT system developers seeking to maximize imaging speed, minimize processing latency, and achieve superior image quality, the ST830E's hardware wavenumber-linear architecture offers a compelling foundation.
